Boil Water Notices lifted from Letterfrack and Tully/Tullycross Public Water Supplies

The Boil Water Notices on the Letterfrack and Tully/Tullycross Public Water Supplies in Co Galway have been lifted with immediate effect.

Uisce Éireann can confirm that, following consultation with the Health Service Executive, customers on these supplies can now resume normal use of their water.

The Boil Water Notices were issued on Saturday, 15 August to protect the health of approximately 138 customers on the Letterfrack PWS, and approximately 401 customers on the Tully/Tullycross PWS.

The notices were issued following mechanical issues at the two treatment plants as a result of a deterioration in raw water quality due to low rainfall.

Drinking water experts from Uisce Éireann worked to lift the notices for impacted customers as quickly and as safely as possible.

Uisce Éireann’s Leo O’Shea acknowledged the impact of the notices on the community.

“Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notices had on the communities of Letterfrack and Tully/Tullycross.

“I would like to thank residents, businesses owners and visitors to the area for their patience and support while our drinking water experts worked to lift the notices as quickly as it was safe to do so.

“I would also like to thank the local political representatives and the media for their assistance in sharing information during the period of these notices,” Leo continued.
