Water supply returning to customers supplied by Glenade Water Treatment Plant

A full water supply is returning to customers in Co Leitrim following an operational issue at Glenade Water Treatment Plant this morning.

Uisce Éireann crews have resolved the issue and the network is now recharging.

Customers supplied by the plant in Kinlough, Tullaghan and surrounding areas should see their normal water supply returning within a couple of hours.

Uisce Éireann’s James Melvin thanked those affected for their patience this morning and explained that it can take a number of hours for the network to refill following an unplanned outage.

“I expect the majority of customers to have a normal water supply after lunch but it can take longer for those customers at the end of the network or on higher ground.”

Uisce Éireann crews are on site at Glenade Water Treatment Plant this morning investigating an operational issue at the plant.

Customers supplied by the plant, including those in Kinlough, Tullaghan and surrounding areas, are experiencing a disruption to their water supply.

Uisce Éireann’s James Melvin assured those affected that every effort is being made to return a normal supply as quickly as possible with engineers on site early this morning.

“We understand the inconvenience caused by an unplanned outage such as this and would like to thank customers impacted for their patience while crews carry out repair works.”
