Crews working to restore full supply in Buncrana

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann’s leak detection crews continue to work in the Keelogs and Druminor areas of Buncrana today as they search for a significant leak.

The leak is putting pressure on a normal daytime water supply for customers and as a result nighttime restrictions have been put in place.

These essential restrictions, from 11pm tonight to 7am tomorrow morning (Wednesday), will allow the local reservoir to replenish and ensure a daytime supply for homes and businesses.

Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan has appealed to customers in the area to be mindful of their water usage and report any leaks.

“I can assure customers our crews are actively searching for the leak, and we will repair it as quickly as possible. In the meantime, I am appealing to all our customers in the Buncrana area to make a special effort to conserve water. I’m asking them to consider their water usage and reflect on the daily and easy actions they can take to play their part in ensuring a good daytime supply for the entire community.

“Simple actions, such as taking a shorter shower, placing a basin in the sink and fixing leaking taps can all make a significant impact.”

Uisce Éireann continues to keep customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channel @IWCare, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
