Restoration works completed at Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews have completed restoration works at Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant, following operational issues at the plant earlier today and water is returning to impacted customers.
Uisce Éireann is asking customers to be mindful of their water use as reservoir levels remain critically low and some customers may experience low water pressure as reservoir levels continue to recover.
Alternative Water Supplies remain in place at Ardfinnan Village, Newcastle National School, Grange National School, Marlifield Village and Newchapel Cross. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Customers are also reminded that a boil water notice remains in place for those supplied by the Ardfinnan Regional Supply and customers are advised to boil water until further notice. Customers are reminded that the water is safe to consume once boiled.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “We understand the disruption an unplanned outage like this can cause and would like to thank affected customers for their patience while crews worked to restore supply.”
