Crews working to restore water supply in Canon’s Cross, Cork

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a major burst on a water main in Canon’s Cross, Carrigyknaveen which is affecting supply to customers in the area.

Uisce Éireann customers in Canon’s Cross, Temple Hill, Leemount Cross, Lee Road, and surrounding areas of Carrigyknaveen may be experiencing disruptions to their supply as a consequence of this burst.

Crews have mobilised to the site of the burst to commence repair works. It is estimated that repairs will be completed by 5pm tomorrow evening (08 June).

Typically, it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all properties after an unplanned outage.

Donal O’Keefe of Uisce Éireann Asset Operations said that all efforts will be made to restore supply to impacted homes and businesses as quickly as possible.

“We acknowledge how inconvenient an unplanned outage is and we would like to thank impacted customers for their understanding as our crews work to repair the burst and restore full supply as soon as possible,” said Donal.

To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.
