Water supply returning to customers in Stamullen and Bellewstown
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers in the Stamullen and Bellewstown areas following repairs to a significant burst in Duleek yesterday.
Complex repair works were carried out to a burst water main and water has now returned to the Duleek area.
However, some areas on the network are still being affected by low pressure as Carnes Reservoir continues to recover.
Stamullen and surrounding areas will continue to see an increase in pressure later this evening which will then allow normal pressure to be restored in the Bellewstown area.
Uisce Éireann crews are working on the ground to divert water around the network to get it back to customers as quickly as possible.
Alternative water supplies will remain in place towards the end of the network at:
- Stamullen School
- Stamullen Church
- Bellewstown
All previously scheduled planned works which were due to take place in Stamullen this week have now been cancelled to allow the water supply to be fully restored.
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Uisce Éireann’s Enda Cully said: “We understand the disruption an unplanned outage like this can cause and would like to thank affected customers for their patience while crews work to fully restore the supply to all areas.”

While works have successfully been completed on the network it may take a number of hours for full supply to be restored to customers on higher ground and at the end of the network.
