Planned outage in Rahoon Road area to facilitate essential maintenance

Uisce Éireann is advising customers in the Rahoon Road area of Galway city of a planned disruption to their water supply tomorrow night (Tuesday, 23 June) to facilitate mains repairs in the area.

Uisce Éireann customers in Highfield Park, Gleann Dara and the surrounding areas will experience a disruption from 8pm on Tuesday night until approximately 6am on Wednesday morning.

The planned outage is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works on the local network.

Teresa Burke of Uisce Éireann said that crews will work through the night to complete the repairs while causing as little disruption as possible to local residents.

“These are essential works to repair mains at the site of a major burst at the junction of the Rahoon Road and the Seamus Quirke Road in March,” said Teresa.

“We understand the frustration that planned outages can cause for our customers, and we wish to assure impacted customers that all efforts will be made to complete the works and restore full supply as soon as possible.”

Typically, it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all properties after a planned outage. Customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer restoration times as the system recharges.
