Update 16:00pm: Water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Leixlip, Maynooth, Celbridge, and surrounding areas this afternoon following the completion of repair works on a burst water main.
Repairs to the burst in Blakestown, on the R148 Maynooth Road outside Leixlip, were completed at approximately 3pm this afternoon and supply is now returning to normal for impacted customers.
Eoghan Forristal of Uisce Éireann thanked impacted customers for their understanding while crews worked to repair the burst and restore supply.
“We understand the inconvenience caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank impacted customers for their patience,” he said.
Typically, it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all properties after an unplanned outage. Customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer restoration times as the system recharges.
